Linda Cabot is a Boston based artist who is building her own textile and home accessories line. The fabrics are created based on repeating elements in her encaustic landscape paintings and printed on organic cotton and then turned into pillow covers, quilts, dish towels, placemats, table cloths, etc. Linda launched her first collection, which she started selling this summer at trunk shows along the east coast of the United States.
As Linda describes it: “Art transformed into fabric, inspired by nature”. Linda's textile line is informed by her environmental activism, especially in the area of ocean conservation and marine plastic pollution (www.fromthebowseat.org). Linda's line is fully sustainable and printed on organic cottons. Linda also wants to employ local women to sew the line, providing a living wage to local women. A percentage of her proceeds will also go back to organizations that focus on sustainability and environmental conservation. We would like to place an ad for sewers on hireculture.
Her instagram link is below. It will give you a feel for her work.
