PRIVATE LESSON VIOLIN INSTRUCTOR

The Concord Conservatory of Music is a vibrant non-profit community music school in the Metro-west Boston area, which helps students of all ages and abilities explore their potential, guided by exceptional, skilled faculty in a welcoming and accepting environment. CCM was founded in 2005 and currently serves over 460 students annually through private instruction, group classes, ensembles, jams, and a concert and lecture series.

HOURS Two days, which includes  Saturday mornings.

JOB SUMMARY

Individual Instruction faculty are responsible for providing excellent music instruction to Concord Conservatory of Music Students. The teacher is responsible for music instruction, studio management, and participation in the work of the strings department, including attending faculty meetings and engagement in the overall work and mission of the Concord Conservatory of Music. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teaching private lessons. Teaching hours to include afternoons and evenings
  • Teaching group classes, as required
  • Help with community outreach programs and opportunities, including performing in faculty recitals, and leading programs
  • Teaching a minimum of 4 weeks over the summer session is highly recommended both for the consistency of your student’s musical development and for the retention of your studio
  • Participate in Conservatory events, Open House and student recitals, etc
  • Perform general faculty responsibilities according to the guidelines listed in the Faculty Handbook, and attend faculty meetings


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Teachers must have experience, intuition, and enthusiasm for working with students of all ages and ability levels
  • Exceptional skills in communicating with parents and the more advanced students of all ages.
  • Dedication to working in a collaborative professional environment
  • Preferred qualifications: M.A in music with an emphasis on pedagogy & performance, 4+ years of studio teaching experience
