Description:
The Peabody Essex Museum, one of the most dynamic art and culture museums in the country, is seeking a part-time Public Programs Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Public Programs, the successful candidate will contribute to and produce programs for all ages that address social justice and civic issues in our world today. This candidate will also focus on increasing museum attendance, deepening engagement, initiating new program ideas, supporting PEM's Friday Nights initiative, as well as developing and preparing hands-on activities for our monthly PEM Pals program! Responsibilities include: day-to-day outreach and event coordination, set short and long term goals for programs & engagement with new audiences of various ages, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds, develop and deliver programs that broaden PEMs reach to these communities, and manage relevant program administration such as internal space bookings, staff calendars, purchases, contracts & invoices.

Qualifications:

College degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Prior public program experience working for a cultural organization preferred. Experience with Google Suite is a plus. Bilingual is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, an understanding of developing community programs, the ability to work independently and with a team, as well as multitasking while maintaining deadlines. Occasional evenings and/or weekend hours are required.
