Operations Manager

Description:

Amelia Park Children’s Museum in Westfield, MA serves children (primarily ages 1-7) and their caregivers. Through interactive exhibits, daily activities, and special events, APCM provides a fun and educational environment for learning through play.


About the Job:

Part time , weekdays and/or weekends

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 per hour

The operations manager will:


  • Oversee staff to ensure all daily needs are met and quality of work is maintained.

  • Work with the executive director to assess, edit, and implement museum policies related to requirements of staff, museum safety, workflow, etc.

  • Create weekly staff schedules.

  • Inventory and order for gift shop, custodial, front desk, and birthday parties.

  • Interact directly with visitors, in person and over the phone. This includes standard admission procedures as well as processing birthday parties and memberships, and problem resolution.

  • Manage front desk sales, including daily earnings reporting.

  • Oversee museum appearance at front desk/gift shop area, including museum signage, promotional materials, etc.

  • Oversee official APCM social media channels, posting, monitoring, and responding as necessary.

  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training new staff members.

Qualifications:


  • Be outgoing and enjoy working one-on-one with children and families in an environment that can be noisy.

  • Have a bachelor’s degree, or relevant experience.

  • Have experience as a staff/team leader, particularly in overseeing work for quality and accuracy.

  • Be able to multitask in a busy environment.

  • Be respectful and committed to providing excellent customer service to all visitors.

  • Be willing to assist with keeping the museum clean and safe.
