Public Programs Coordinator
Description:
The Massachusetts Historical Society is seeking an ambitious
Public Programs Coordinator to help build one of the leading program
departments in New England. The successful candidate will help plan programs,
series and special events in a nationally recognized department within the
oldest historical society in America.Full time. 35 hours per week.
The responsibilities would include:

Works to research, develop, and implement a
robust yearly calendar of over 60 public programs
·
Acts as primary producer for online programs
·
Helps to identify, develop and maintain
relationships with external partners, cultural organizations, and community
groups
·
Manages program registration in constituent
database
·
Identifies opportunities for increased
engagement through social media, networking, and online platforms
·
Coordinates full range of logistical support for
the department through management of all event registration, book shipments and
sales, internal budget tracking, income reporting, etc.
Qualifications:
The position requires evening work, knowledge
of social media, donor databases, strong communication skills, and the ability
to work with diverse groups of people. The ideal candidate will have an
interest in American history, an MA in American History or related field or a
graduate certificate in museum studies or equivalent. The position is available
immediately.
