COVID Safety Officer, May 24 through October 31

The entire Company will be adhering to local, state and union safety protocols, where and when appropriate, throughout the season. 


· Completing Health Education Services COVID-19 Compliance Officer Training, as well as additional virtual training through WHO and OSHA, with fees paid by Shakespeare & Co;

· Ensuring compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols including social distancing, proper mask wearing, and proper hand hygiene as well as closed rehearsal / no visitor policies;

· Providing certified documentation of COVID compliance when requested;

· Reporting violations of safety protocols to management and managing COVID-positive case reporting as required;

· Leading orientation and training regarding COVID safety compliance for new staff;

· Conducting a COVID safety meeting with cast, crew, and creatives at the start of each day which may include a daily temperature and symptom screenings for cast, crew, and creatives and the distribution of PPE and sanitizer;

· Maintaining contact tracing efforts on site;

· Cleaning and sanitizing high-touch areas in the rehearsal and/or performance space as required;

· Researching and remaining abreast of COVID-19 changing guidelines and communicating updates as they arise;

· Remaining readily accessible to cast, crew and creatives throughout their workdays;

· Assisting with COVID-19 testing / scheduling of tests as needed;

· Maintaining all required COVID-19 safety documents and signage;

· Maintaining cast, crew and creatives’ confidentiality with regards to medical information and other sensitive information; and

· Requesting additional PPE and other supplies as necessary.


· A completed COVID-19 vaccine regimen;

· Familiarity with methods of transmission of the COVID-19 virus, disinfecting protocols, social distancing practices, CDC and governmental guidelines;

· An understanding of theatrical production and current safety worksheet / AEA agreement;

· The ability to communicate clearly and effectively;

· The ability to move testing and other materials weighing up to 35 pounds;

· A solid work ethic – a positive attitude, a good team player who has a good sense of humor;

· Possession of a valid driver’s license; and

· A willingness to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols, both in and out of the workplace.
