Barrington Stage Company is seeking a Master Electrician to join our team in Pittsfield, MA for the summer season. Communicate with Lighting Supervisor and Lighting Designers to accurately execute designs and maintain artistic standards of the highest level.
Responsible for installation of light plots, supervising the electrics crew during notes calls and show run, making sure all instruments and practicals are properly installed, circuited and functional.
Assist the Lighting Supervisor with pre-production preparations and shop prep as needed.
Maintain accurate and up to date paperwork for each production including, hook-ups and daily check-out sheets
Responsible for daily dimmer/channel check and running the lighting console during performances.
Construct and wire any scenic or practical items such as light boxes, LED Tape, or other production-specific lighting.
Assist the Lighting Supervisor with installing video monitors, projectors, and cameras as necessary.
Maintain all lighting instruments, lighting equipment (scrollers, fog machines, etc.), projection equipment, video monitors and cameras, to ensure safe operation.
Keep electrics storage areas clean and free of debris.
Follow all health and safety guidelines established by the theatre. Report any unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor immediately.
This position is full-time seasonal and runs from May 24th through September 5th with a possible extension through October 20th. Pay is $685-$700 per week plus housing.
Good leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Knowledge of theatrical lighting systems, instruments, equipment and software including Lightwright and Vectorworks.
Experience with ETC Ion console and ability to program efficiently and accurately.
Experience with programming and maintaining moving lights and LED fixtures.
Knowledge of theatrical rigging, electricity and wiring.
Able to read and understand light plots and related lighting paperwork
