Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) seeks an Administrative
Assistant to help with a wide variety of technical, administrative, and program
support activities on behalf of RNAC to ensure organizational accuracy and
This is a part-time, in-house position for 5 hours per week.
The rate of pay will be $20 per hour. This position does not provide benefits. The
ideal candidate will be a highly organized individual with a can-do attitude
and willingness to learn.
Process all new and renewal memberships,
entering the information into our QuickBooks database
Prepare Membership-related batch reports for the
Director and Finance Committee
Process all necessary membership benefit
information including the generation of membership cards
In coordination with the Director, generate
monthly renewal notices including electronic and paper mailings
Work closely with Director to process
contributions, basic correspondence, and receipts in a timely manner
Help manage mail and multiple email inboxes
Assist with paper and virtual mailings as needed
Update website as needed for membership and events
Coordinate scheduling and other tasks to support
the activity of the Rocky Neck Cultural Center
In keeping with the supportive, all-volunteer
organization that is RNAC, we are looking for someone who presents a
professional, courteous, and friendly manner.
1+ years of professional administrative
experience, preferably in a non-profit environment supporting a senior-level
Strong organizational, time management, oral,
and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and communicate well in
person and in writing
Proficiency in Google Suites, MS Office
Applications, QuickBooks, Sign-Up Genius and Eventbrite
Familiarity with Rocky Neck Art Colony, the arts
in general and Gloucester a big plus

The Rocky Neck Art Colony was founded in the mid-19th century and incorporated as a 501(c)(3) in 1973. With the creation of the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck in 2012, the Art Colony programs are reaching a wider demographic as our visual arts focus is expanding to include more diverse cultural and educational offerings.
Programs include: Offerings at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck which include art exhibitions, music and spoken word performances, as well as community celebrations, weddings, and other private events. The Goetemann Artist Residency: one of the few visual artist live-work residencies in Eastern Massachusetts. Gallery 53 (formerly Rocky Neck Gallery): A coop gallery of over 30 artists that is open each year from May - October. The Rocky Neck Historic Art Trail, self-guided and docent tours to 15 locations where renowned American artists of the 19th and 20th century lived and worked.
