Box Office Associate

Description:
This front-line, non-exempt position is responsible for selling single, group, and subscription tickets for Boston Ballet performances and providing excellent customer service and accurate information to all patrons. This position will work remotely temporarily with a return-to-the office date to be determined with at least one month of notice.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES• Process subscriptions, exchanges, ticket sales, and group ticket sales using Tessitura (Boston Ballet’s customer relation management database)• Approach each call with a focus on creating loyalty, maximizing revenue, and ensuring that the theater looks as full as possible• Accurately respond to customer inquiries in person and on the phone, including subscription procedures, seating issues, ticket prices, exchanges, Boston Ballet schedule, casting, and Boston Ballet special events• Answer phones in a timely manner and provide excellent, friendly customer service to all Boston Ballet patrons• Participate in outbound calling campaigns, as directed by the Box Office Manager• Balance and reconcile sales/exchange activities daily• Perform various administrative tasks: dispense tickets at the window and via mail, file subscriptions and other orders, and assist with database cleanup• Responsible for working at the theatre in the Box Office during performance weeks or at times for other Boston Ballet events

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work-related experience required

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in sales and customer service

• Strong customer service skills; professional, enthusiastic, and accurate with numbers

• Flexible, positive attitude with ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

• Computer skills with the ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word. Experience with Tessitura a plus.

• Enthusiasm to contribute to a work environment that strives for diversity, equity, and inclusion.

• Evenings and weekends required during performance weeks
