Seeking

We are seeking experienced teaching artists to teach in our school year programs. Enjoyment in teaching dance of a variety of styles, levels and ages, and the ability to communicate effectively is a MUST. Candidates with an eagerness to learn and collaborate and who exhibit flexibility in meeting individual student needs and goals are seriously sought. We are seeking to hire career-minded, long-term employees who have a stand-out work ethic and desire to grow.


Positions Available

1. Acting teacher for all levels and ages of Acting classes in our Conservatory Program on Wednesday afternoons/evenings from September to May. Basic curriculum provided.  Room for growth!

2. Musical Theater/Acting teacher for beginner-level students in our Conservatory Program on Tuesday afternoons and evenings from September to May.  Possibility for openings on other days of the week as well!  Can be combined with Position 1 for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Teachers may work with our youngest students in our pre-school program as well as our most experienced high school students. Responsibilities include teaching on a weekly basis, preparing students for competitions/performances, providing student feedback, communicating with parents and team members on a regular basis, and attending studio rehearsals and events.


-Submit necessary curriculum documents (e.g. lesson plans) as requested

-Maintain a productive, safe, and enthusiastic learning environment

-Maximize instruction time by keeping the flow of classroom activities moving smoothly and efficiently

-Uphold all studio policies within the classroom

-Infuse TPAC values, rigor, and joy into lessons

-Integrate feedback and goal-setting into lesson delivery

-Provide the differentiation and accommodations needed for the growth and success of all students; go above and beyond to ensure that all students are meeting appropriate standards

-Model strong written and verbal skills

-Supervise out of classroom settings such as arrival, transitions, lunch, and dismissal

-Invest time in knowing students and demonstrate an active interest in their well-being

-Meet expectations including punctuality and professionalism in conversation and in writing; consistently meet deadlines and communicate frequently and appropriately on progress on projects and goals.

-Reflect on professional practice through self-analysis and engagement in informal and formal feedback processes


COVID-19 Safety Procedures

This position is on-site. We have implemented many safety measures including closing our lobby to the general public, daily staff wellness checks, air purifiers, masks at all times, physical distancing, enhanced cleaning procedures, and more.


Qualifications:

-Unwavering humility, patience, and kindness

-Good character, integrity, sense of humor and self-control

-Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical abilities to act swiftly in an emergency situation

-Ability to communicate with leadership staff regarding potential concerns or incidents that may need follow-up based on individual circumstances.

-Interact with and observe students; immediately report all injuries and illnesses, regardless of severity, to leadership staff.

-Know your scheduled work and rest times. Report to work on time as scheduled.

-Professional demeanor

-Openness to work collaboratively to solve problems

-Ability to be self-directed and take initiative

-Organized and systems driven

-Fastidious and attentive to detail

-Basic principles of curriculum design

-Experience teaching ages 3-18 both on a recreational and advanced level. Previous teaching experience in the position(s) of interest is a must.

-The candidate must demonstrate skill, confidence, energy, vitality, commitment and expertise in working with students of all levels and abilities

-Degree in Dance, Voice, Theater and/or Education is preferred

-An ability to listen deeply and foster strong relationships

-Focused and calm under pressure

-Reliable transportation to Sudbury (no commuter rail access); travel stipend may be available

-Makes dance, voice, and/or theater accessible to performers of all levels and abilities through thoughtful teaching strategies and age- and level-appropriate lessons and rehearsals.

-Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others

-Flexible, patient, and eager to learn and work hard

-In addition to the schedules outlined above, all employees are expected to attend events, staff meetings, and trained (all paid)
