Exhibition Store Floor Supervisor

Overview: The Virgil Abloh Store Floor Supervisor will work at the ICA in the specially designed store in connection with the Virgil Abloh exhibition at the ICA.

Our Virgil Abloh Store Floor Supervisor will lead by example and possess the energy and enthusiasm to match our customer’s excitement while providing an exceptional shopping experience. We seek to inspire our customers with exciting visual displays, unique merchandise, and provide a great shopping experience. The Abloh Store Floor Supervisor is responsible for fostering a fun environment and a customer obsessed sales culture.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Act as leader of Sales Associate team, communicating the details of Virgil Abloh’s merchandise, sales process and fulfillment process to Sales Associates and ICA visitors.
  • Proactively welcome visitors and provide a high level of service to ensure an exceptional level of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead team by example in reaching ambitious sales goals.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide solutions for customers.
  • Interview, hire and train Sales Associate team with Director of Retail
  • Coordinate sales team by overseeing and managing the schedule to maintain staffing levels and approve Sales Associates’ timesheets for payroll.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the ICA’s POS system.
  • Direct staff while on the sales floor, including ensuring policies and procedures are followed, and communicate to Director of Retail.
  • Responsible for opening and/or closing the store.
  • Perform closing reports.
  • Maintain store appearance throughout the day with assistance of Sales Associates..
  • Restock merchandise with Sales Associates and Fulfillment Associates.
  • Work with Sales Associates and Fulfillment Associates to maintain stockroom and overall stock organization.
  • Communicate basic information about Virgil Abloh exhibition to ICA visitors if asked.
  • Maintain ICA dress code.
  • Required to work weekend hours (mandatory), as well as some evenings, and holidays. Weekend hours are mandatory. Commitment needed through September 26.
Qualifications:
  • Proven background in retail sales with experience in a supervisory role
  • Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude for problem-solving
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • team player with high level of dedication
  • Track record of over-achieving sales quotas
  • Hands-on experience with Shopify POS a plus
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and busy environment

This is a Fixed Term Position:  

Full time (37.5 hours per week), Hourly, Non-exempt

Fixed Term Employment for 24 weeks
