Seasonal Campground Manager - Medfield, MA

The Opportunity.

The Trustees of Reservations is looking for a responsible individual to serve as a Weekend Campground Manager at Rocky Woods Campground in Medfield MA. It is a quiet, family campground located in the Charles River Valley Watershed with 6.5 miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, canoeing, guided nature walks, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and more.


The Campground Manager is responsible for hiring, scheduling, and managing seasonal campground staff, monitoring the reservation and POS systems, and overseeing all daily operations and functions of campground (May – October). This is a part time position with the ability to work roughly 30 hours a week mostly Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and some Mondays.


In This Role You Will:

  • Ensure outstanding customer service to visitors?and?manage all aspects of the visitor experience (booking, accommodations, rentals and retail)

  • Develop and implement ongoing customer service and sales training to property staff and volunteers.?

  • Hire?seasonal?staff?and manage?scheduling throughout the season.?

  • Ensures cleaning of campsites and campground area, including restrooms.

  • Work collaboratively with the Stewardship?team and?inform visitors of ongoing property maintenance and availability throughout the season.?

  • Takes initiative to research and complete projects.

  • Provides clear and concise instructions for effective management of on-site staff.

  • Responds promptly to employees/customer’s needs and concerns.

  • Performs a variety of duties associated with payroll/financial reporting and monitoring.

  • Ensures completion of various daily, weekly and monthly reports in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Schedule and manage campground programs.

Qualifications:
  • A passion for the outdoors is important!?

  • The ideal candidate will have energy, enthusiasm, and?dedication?to provide every visitor a remarkable experience at our campground.?

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible experience in?hospitality management, visitor engagement or education,?with experience as a manager or supervisor of staff preferred.?

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, collaboration with internal and external partners, strategic planning, oral communication, presentations, persuasive writing, and training staff.?

  • Strong analytic and organizational skills and the ability to engage diverse constituents.?

  • Background in mentoring, evaluating, and providing feedback to staff.?

  • Experience with interpretive program design with an entrepreneurial spirit?a plus

  • Excellent visitor contact/customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently without supervision.

  • Ability to remain calm, exercise confidence, and be articulate when confronted by uncooperative visitors or when handling emergencies.

  • Satisfactory background check required.


Working Conditions:

  • Variable outdoor weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift 40 pounds required.
