Wayland School of Music: violin, viola, cello, guitar and piano instructors

Wayland School of Music seeks to add more violin, viola, cello, guitar and piano teachers. Some flexibility in days.

We currently serve about 140 families from Wayland and the surrounding towns. The local population values music education; we grew even during the pandemic, and are now expanding rapidly. A new main road location is increasing that effect. Several teachers are at capacity, and we are running out of slots for new students.

We offer private lessons (Suzuki and traditional), group classes (Suzuki and non-Suzuki), and regular community performances. Since we have a flourishing Suzuki program, we would prefer to hire Suzuki trained teachers - but all qualified candidates will be considered.

Hourly rate: $52 private lessons, $56.50 chamber music coaching, $62 group classes. Attendance and makeup policies underscore respect for teachers’ time and professionalism, and are firmly upheld.

1. Minimum 8-10 years professional teaching experience

2. For Suzuki teachers, registration through at least unit 2 in your instrument

3. Professional performing credentials (something that shows you can play as well as teach)

4. Ability to work as part of a team, especially for Suzuki teachers (we aim for a cohesive program)

5. Willingness to teach in person (with VERY strict health protocols, details to be provided) in the immediate or fairly near future - now, June or September (please note, we are not currently looking currently for people to teach online only)

6. Own transport - there is no public transport nearby

How To Apply:
