Barrington Stage Company is seeking a Wardrobe Supervisor to join our team in Pittsfield, MA for the summer season. BSC is a not-for-profit professional theatre company in the Berkshires with a three-fold mission: to produce top notch, compelling work; to develop new plays and musicals; and to engage our community with vibrant, inclusive educational outreach programs.

Attend rehearsals and run-throughs as necessary.
Supervise and organize the wardrobe crew (if any) during the dress rehearsal and performance period.
Coordinate care and maintenance of costumes during the dress rehearsal and performance period including, but not limited to: repairs, laundry, ironing, shoe polishing, dry cleaning and wig maintenance.
Create a costume change and dresser plot.
Create a costume pre-set list for each act/scene as necessary.
Create an understudy (if any) costume plot.
Determine location for Quick Change Booths (if necessary) and fit them out once they are set up.
Supervise the preparation of dressing rooms, the creation of costume check in sheets and the organization of costumes in each dressing room.
Check in and review costumes prior to each dress rehearsal and performance.
Make sure costumes are preset onstage and backstage prior to each dress rehearsal and performance.
Supervise any alterations necessary during the dress rehearsal period.
Supervise the costume strike including, but not limited to: laundry, dry cleaning, rental returns, and restocking costumes.
Follow all health and safety guidelines established by the theatre. Report any unsafe conditions or practices to your supervisor immediately.
Good communication, organizational and time management skills
Basic knowledge of costume and fashion history
Experience in costume construction, maintenance and repair
Knowledge and experience with doing laundry, fabric cleaning techniques and stain removal
Ability to clean wigs and hair pieces and maintain the original styles
Ability to lead a crew including organizing work flow
Ability to stay calm during high stress situations
This position is full-time seasonal from June 1, 2021 through August 26, 2021. Pay is $685-$700 per week with housing included.
