Barrington Stage Company is seeking a Theater Technician to join our team in Pittsfield, MA for the summer season. BSC is a not-for-profit professional theatre company in the Berkshires with a three-fold mission: to produce top notch, compelling work; to develop new plays and musicals; and to engage our community with vibrant, inclusive educational outreach programs.

Primarily work as a scenic carpenter constructing scenery for a six show season
Assist with scenery load-in and strike of each show
Assist with hanging softgoods
Assist with lighting and sound installation and focus as needed
Assist with moving props and furniture to rehearsal studios and performance spaces
Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Assist with daily shop cleanup.
Strong background in scenic construction.
Experience with pneumatic and power handtools.
Experience with stationary power tools including table saw, band saw, miter saw and radial arm saw
Welding and metalworking experience helpful
Knowledge of lighting instruments and experience with cabling and focusing required
Ability to program ETC lighting consoles helpful but not required
Knowledge of speakers and microphones and experience with running sound cabling required
Rigging experience hanging scenery, lights and speakers required
Experience with single purchase counterweight system helpful
