Art Educator Summer Institute Instructor: Fine Art Department

Montserrat College of Art is seeking an instructor with an undergraduate degree, teaching certification and/or equivalent professional experience to teach Working in the Landscape in our Summer Art Educator Institute program.

The week-long summer residential Art Educator Institute program (June 27 - July 1, 2021) is designed for art educators teaching grades K through 12, and community college art educators. Our Summer Institute immerses art educators from across the country by creating an artist-in-residence experience for educators to develop their own studio practice and build new skills that they can bring back to their classrooms.

The Working in the Landscape class will meet from 9am-12pm from June 28th through July 1st throughout the program. A second class could be added if enrollment allows, which then would include a 1pm-4pm option.

This class will explore a broad range of landscape and cityscape painting and drawing, including elements of color, structure, viewpoint, and paint handling common to both contemporary and historical landscape studies. Both outdoor and studio methods will be introduced, with special emphasis on personal interpretation.
