Pre-College Instructor: Digital Foundation


Montserrat College of Art is seeking an instructor with an undergraduate degree, teaching certification and/or equivalent professional experience to teach Digital Foundation in our Summer Pre-College Program.

The three-week summer residential Pre-College Program (July 12 - July 30, 2021) is designed for high school students 16 years and older, and provides an intensive introduction to the life and expectations at an art college. Students receive rigorous visual art instruction and time to cultivate their foundation drawing skills, as well as discover new subjects and mediums through our elective offerings.

The Digital Foundation class will meet from 9am-12pm each weekday throughout the 3-week program.

In the Digital Foundation course, students will explore the fundamentals of digital media in 2, 3, and 4 dimensions. Through a series of projects, students learn programming basics, experiment with 3D scanning + modeling, and develop moving images, resulting in a body of screen-based, analog, and interactive work. Working with a variety of processes and software, students gain experience with the technical, conceptual, and practical elements of computer-based media.

Bachelor’s degree is required. Prior teaching experience preferred. Strong leadership, oral and written communication skills.
