Marketing and Communications Manager

The Central Square Business Improvement District (BID) is a 501c3 community organization that creates opportunities for local residents, artists, and businesses to benefit from the richness of Central Square’s Cultural District. Our growing team includes outreach and street workers, urban planners, communicators, and community organizers.

We’re looking for a digitally-oriented Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team. The role is a hybrid: part strategy, part execution. Reporting to the Executive Director, you will also work closely with other team members to uplift their work, including our Creative Director, Operations Manager, Homeless Outreach team and other BID partners.

You will be responsible for planning and delivering content that tells the story of the BID and its impact in a variety of formats. This position is ideal for a creative, passionate marketing professional who wants to help us develop our audience and strengthen our storytelling through vibrant, creative, clear, and timely communications and marketing. Position will work in-office 40 hours per week.

You will need to be quick on your feet, good-natured, composed, and punctual. Our work happens fast. We’re looking for the consummate professional who values in-the-community work. Ideally, you have ties to or currently live in Central Square.


Job Responsibilities & Accountability:

? Implement Central Square BID’s district plan, which supports annual business objectives and organizational goals, including executing and managing social media, email communications, and centralsq.org website

? In collaboration with other staff, strategize on press and media opportunities to support development of the organization and specific event or program goals

? Create and develop social media content and calendar supporting regular postings and storytelling via digital channels including Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn

? Responsible for maintaining the website, creating infographics, and working with the Creative & Executive Director on content related to campaigns, initiatives, or special events

? Partner with web developer on website major updates and design

? Strengthen CSBID branding and create strong signage and collateral

? Develop and manage marketing budget, including design, print, and advertising

? Coordinate with graphic designer as needed for any design deliverables

? Develop promotional and design materials, including brochures, flyers, reports, and social templates

? Support and execute marketing plans for each CSBID event or performance

? Stay current on emerging news topics by actively exploring online publications. Write online news releases and media advisories for all of our online platforms.

Qualifications:

? 3-5 year professional marketing and/or communications experience

? Preferred experience working in a non-profit setting, for a music organization, brand marketing, management of concerts or arts-related programming

? Excellent writing skills and ability to multitask to meet specific deadlines

? Proficient with creative design and branding

? Ability to work independently but also in a team environment

? Must have a positive attitude, appreciate the arts, and mission of the CSBID organization

? Experience with communications software like Mail Chimp

? Flexibility to work and cover evening or weekend events as needed (usually 2-4 per month).
