About ArtNest Residency
ArtNest Residency is a newly-formed, grassroots arts company based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We believe in sharing the joy of arts with everyone, from all walks of life, from around the globe. We create projects in all arts disciplines to create social change and promote arts advocacy.
ArtNest exists to share the art and culture of Africa with the world, and create international and multicultural projects for social good. Led by Artistic Director Paul Wairoma and international, volunteer staff, we seek to make connections with artists, arts administrators, advocates and educators around the world to create art that is powerful, meaningful, and brings us together.
About the Position
ArtNest seeks a volunteer General Manager who is able to commit 5 hours/week of their time to our organization. The General Manager will report to ArtNest’s Strategist, and is responsible for:
Creating and maintaining the organization’s expense and revenue budgets
Collaborating with legal support to obtain nonprofit status in the US and South Africa
Supporting in the implementation of ArtNest’s strategic plan
With support from the Strategist, coordinating the work of the Director of Development and Director of Marketing to ensure the team works collaboratively in an organized manner
In time, completing necessary tax information and coordinating any audits
We would like for this position to also collaborate with the Director of Development in the creation of a financial management plan of the organization as we continue to grow and establish ourselves as an international nonprofit organization.
This position is fully remote. The General Manager can be located anywhere in the US or South Africa, although candidates who are local to/connected with a major metropolitan area are preferred.
