Visitor Experience Representative (Substitute)

The USS Constitution Museum is seeking Visitor Experience Representatives who are able to cover staff vacations and provide extra support during special events (school vacation weeks, harborfest, functions, etc.). Representatives work in a highly visible position that is essential to fulfilling the Museum’s mission of creating a positive, memorable experience where visitors of all ages can learn and connect to history. The position is responsible for welcoming and providing exceptional customer service to our visitors, facilitating a range of hands-on interpretive experiences in our galleries, and encouraging visitors to voluntarily donate to the Museum. As a part of the Museum Learning department, you will be trained in interpretation techniques, customer service, and USS Constitution’s history.
The successful candidate is someone who enjoys engaging with museum audiences, has experience in cash handling and customer service, and an interest in American history. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include weekends and/or holidays, is essential. This position is ideal for anyone interested in working in an educational setting who does not want to commit to a regular weekly schedule.
