Production Manager/ Audio Specialist
The Production Manager/ Audio Specialist will act
as part of a team of Production Managers that works to cover all events and
performances at the ICA. This position will specifically offer administrative
and technical production support to educational events, performance events, and
special events. This will include both internal and external Special Events, Films,
Educational programs such as Teen Night, Playdate and Teen Convening, and ICA
and Global Arts Live performances. The Production Manager will work directly
with the internal or external constituents to plan timelines, crew needs, event
flow, and technical needs and ensure the highest quality implementation.
In addition, the Production Manager will be
responsible for assisting with equipment and space maintenance and consulting
on various audio projects throughout the building and at the ICA Watershed. This
job does not have a set schedule and night and weekend hours are required. The Production Manager will work with a
variety of constituents including VIP’s, artists, ICA staff and theater crews.
Responsibilities include but are not
Work with event/performance program manager to identify event needs.
Manage equipment allocation, communicate program staffing needs to appropriate internal staff and develop event logistics.
Coordinate with Facilities, Security and IT to identify and execute production needs and ensure patrons safety and the safety of our building and artwork.
Track event/performance expenses and stay on budget.
Oversee day to day activities of hired crew and vendors.
Coordinate rentals and deliveries.
Be onsite the day of the event to ensure smooth production up to and through the event, including load-in, strike/load-out and restore as needed.
Oversee special audio projects as needed.
Maintain audio equipment and inventories.
Maintain regular firmware/software updates for audio equipment.
Attend weekly production department meetings.

Related Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Previous experience in an event production
operations environment preferred.
Highly organized, detail-oriented individual able
to juggle multiple projects and work well under pressure.
Must be able to work with a variety of clients
from Board level to artists to teens.
Must have extensive, and demonstrable, knowledge
in Audio Engineering.
General knowledge of maintenance requirements and
techniques for all sound, lighting and theatre equipment.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite and the Google
Excellent communication skills and the ability to
stay calm under pressure.
