Description:
Cambridge Center for Adult Education, located in Harvard Square is seeking part-time Piano Instructors to teach beginner-level piano classes to adults of all ages and backgrounds. These are group classes with the class size ranging from 4 to 8 students. Classes typically meet for 8 or more weeks, for one hour each week. We offer piano classes four terms per year (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall), and the ideal instructor will be able to commit to this part-time teaching opportunity year-round.

Students in our classes learn how to read music in two clefs painlessly as well as play music using both hands simultaneously by the end of the class. Level 1 is for the absolute beginner. Level 2 is for those who can play with two hands together and read the grand staff. Level 3 is for those who are ready to play short beginner pieces. Level 4 is for those who want to add to their repertoire of songs.

Instructors at CCAE are paid hourly starting at $25+/hr, commensurate with experience. Instructors can also take one free class per term (up to $280).

Qualifications:
  • Teaching experience, preferably for adults with different experience levels and backgrounds
