Circuit Lab (www.circuit-lab.com) currently has six open positions for summer lead instructors to teach electronics and computer programming classes for elementary and middle school students.
The areas where we have open positions are:
- Lowell MA
- Burlington MA
- Arlington MA
- Framingham MA
- Providence RI
- Hartford CT / Springfield MA
Classes are located in different towns each week, all within approximately 30 minutes driving distance of these listed locations. You will travel to class sites in each town to run one-week-long programs throughout the summer for small groups of students.
Please note due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, there is potential for some of the planned classes to be adjusted to run outdoors or online. We take the pandemic seriously, and currently require masks, social distancing, and frequent sanitizing practices for our in-person programs.
The start date for the instructor position is June 15, 2021. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are received.
Summer work at Circuit Lab is full time (35-40 hours per week), generally 8:30AM to 4:00PM each weekday, consisting of two 3-hour classes plus setup time. Programs run from mid-June to the end of August, and exact timing will vary slightly each week based on each class site's schedule. We also have paid training time to help you get familiar with the curriculum and teaching style before leading a class.
Our ideal candidate is a practiced and enthusiastic teacher who enjoys working with elementary-school age students, who has developed facility with classroom management from at least 6 months leading classrooms and/or summer camp programs. The ideal candidate is also enthusiastic about technology, and has some experience experimenting with DIY electronics or robotics.
