NEMPAC Summer Internship 2019


The Development & Marketing Summer Internship at NEMPAC will gain experience working in a growing and inspiring community-based non-profit arts organization in the City of Boston. The position will be anywhere from 15 to 20 hours per week from June 1st to mid-August with a requirement to be available in July for the Tuesday Night concert series in the North End from 5 – 9 pm on the Greenway as well as June 19th to 22nd for the Opera Project at Faneuil Hall. Intern will assist with specific event needs and audience development.

This intern will be an integral part of our fundraising & development team and will work under and report to the NEMPAC Executive Director. He/she will also assist with the marketing at our summer programs including the NEMPAC Opera Project, the Summer Concert Series, and other various community events. This is a great opportunity for a college student to gain hands on experience in the non-profit arts sector while working under and learning from the director of the organization.

Responsibilities Include:

§ Corporate sponsorship research and cultivation

§ Data entry, constituent contact management and gaining familiarity with our CRM E-Tapestry

§ Audience development at summer performance season and various community events

§ Creation of new donor records and maintaining new gift entries

§ Assisting in our Annual Appeal planning for 2019-10

§ Assist at special events and special programs when needed

§ Assist Ex. Director of NEMPAC with other various administrative tasks

§ Various other marketing responsibilities including

This position is for an enthusiastic candidate who is passionate about becoming more involved in a rapidly growing, community-based arts organization. The right candidate will:

§ Be enrolled or a recent graduate of an undergraduate or graduate program

§ be very organized, detailed oriented, and have a strong work ethic

§ excellent communication skills

§ excellent writing skills

§ positive attitude, and willingness to succeed

§ experience in non-profit fundraising, or involvement in an arts administration degree training program

§ have a background or strong interest in music education or performance

This is an unpaid internship. Interns will receive a weekly travel stipend.
