Boston Ballet seeks a creative self-starter who wants to gain experience
in merchandise buying, sales, marketing promotions, and e-commerce. This position will work under the supervision
of the retail staff on a variety of projects that include the following:
Research products for season shows, special events, and gifts
manage physical inventory and merchandise at Boston studio shop
and maintain pricing charts for all studio locations
with web product assortment and update electronic and physical inventories
ideas for retail promotions
in writing sales copy for online merchandise, e-communications, and vendor
in the development of products for merchandise and marketing promotional items
in compiling and reviewing customer survey results
and maintain visual merchandising at special events
Retail Operations Associate with customer service inquiries
shop supply inventory monthly (shipping supplies, shopping bags, receipt tape,
with fulfillment of orders and internal transfers
Currently or recently enrolled in or
completed an undergraduate degree
Able to commit to 10–15 hours per week,
mostly during office hours (see below)
Strong verbal and written
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Retail or related work
flexibility, a high level of self-motivation, professionalism, creativity,
humor, and a love for the arts encouraged
nights and weekends
internships are unpaid. Boston Ballet internships are for credit (preferred) or
on a volunteer basis.
