Apprentice Program Stage Manager: Non Equity: Summer 2019


Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is seeking a non-Equity Stage Manager for one of our two Apprentice shows, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Bryn Boice. The Stage Manager will work closely with the director of their production and production manager to coordinate and run rehearsals and performances. The productions will be performed by half of the CSC acting Apprentice Company, a group of 32 undergraduate level actors. Although both these plays will be fully produced, the design focus is on costumes and props with very little emphasis on lights and sound.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and running rehearsals and performances
  • Maintaining necessary paperwork
  • Conveying information between directors, designers, actors and staff
  • Some maintenance of rehearsal and performance spaces
  • May be asked to operate sound cues on QLab


  • Rehearsals will begin the week of June 9th, 2019 on the Babson College campus in Wellesley, MA.
  • Tech Period: Approximately July 22-24, 2019
  • Performances: July 24 – July 28, 2019 (location TBD)
  • Rehearsals will take place on the Babson College campus in Wellesley, MA
  • Stage management experience is necessary. Experience with student actors preferred.
  • Rehearsals will take place at Babson College located in Wellesley. While a car is not required for this position, access to a reliable form of transportation is strongly recommended as the campus is not easily accessible to public transportation.
  • Experience with QLab a plus, familiarity with Google Suite required
