Audio Internship for Youth Summer Program


Each summer, The Hanover Theatre runs Youth Summer Programs for students ages 6-18. The Pre-teen program introduces students, ages 9-12, to the joys of participating in a show. Students work with a director/choreographer and music director over the course of two weeks to present a junior production of a Broadway show. A 60-minute Broadway Junior performance will be presented at the end of the program.Our teen program, now in its 10th year, offers students, ages 13-18, daily morning classes focusing on music, drama and dance as well as afternoon rehearsals for a final production. Two sessions will be offered. Students will present three performances of a full-scale Broadway musical at the end of each session.


- Daily preparation of 32 or more wireless body mics for actors prior to rehearsal/show, install batteries, testing with A1 (audio engineer) and troubleshooting issues

- Daily preparation of Telex BTR800 communications system, install batteries, testing and troubleshooting.

- Direct physical contact with male and female children, ages 9-18

- Micing of actors with body mics as per instructions by A1

- Set up of stage and pit monitors under A1 supervision

- Remain in constant radio contact with A1 through the day



(times may vary depending on production schedule)

·Teen Session I: July 22nd - July 27th 

  Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and performances July 26th & 27th

·Pre-Teen Session: August 5th - August 10th 

  8am-4pm and performances  on August 10th

·Teen Session II: August 12th – August 17th

  Monday-Friday 8:00am - 5pm and performances on August 16th & 17th

·Strike: Sunday August 18th


•Preference to someone considering or intending to pursue a degree/career in audio or production with a strong interest in audio design and mixing.

•Previous experience in audio a plus, some basic audio knowledge preferred.

•Excellent communication skills and the ability to think and react quickly under high pressure situations

•Excellent ability to listen and follow instructions under pressure

•Confident personality with the motivation to achieve results

•Strong attention to detail

•Punctual and dependable

•Not suitable for someone with latex allergies

•Reliable Transportation (parking will be provided)

•Must be 16+
