Work with the Somerville Arts Council (SAC) to promote our
events and programming and help us better reach diverse audiences. This
position will entail working on marketing and communications for all aspects of
SAC's programming including festivals and culinary entrepreneurship program.
The internship will be for Summer 2019 (mid-May to mid-August),
10-15 hrs per week
-Drafting and releasing press releases-Develop and update web and social media content-Online event calendar postings-Updating our media list, research new publicity contacts-Reach out to under-served communities to promote our programming-Developing and updating web and social media content-Putting up posters and flyers around town
-Daytime office work and occasional evening and weekend event
You will learn about our exciting work in arts programming, cultural
economic development, and culinary entrepreneurship. Come work on a small team

The qualified candidate should have:
-An interest and experience in marketing, communications, or
related fields-Interest in and knowledge of arts and cultural community in Somerville-Demonstrated computer and research skills-Strong written and design skills-Ability to multi-task, organize and meet deadlines-Candidate should feel comfortable engaging with and doing outreach in person
and via phone & email-Team oriented and collaborative attitude-College and/or graduate studies preferred
-Ability to speak Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian-Creole a
