Literature Instructor


Cambridge Center for Adult Education, located in Harvard Square, is seeking part-time literature instructors in multiple topics, including classes on the following authors:

  • Henry James
  • James Joyce
  • D.H. Lawrence
  • Flannery O’Connor
  • TS Elliot
  • Jane Austin

Instructors are responsible for planning and organize a clear curriculum for multi-week literature classes for adults of different experience levels and backgrounds. Instructors should be able to clearly and effectively teach literature, which includes creating lesson/discussion plans and clear learning goals, in fun and casual, yet productive and challenging lessons for students.


The ideal instructor would:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher in English Literature or other relevant education
  • Have experience teaching adults of different experience levels and backgrounds
  • Be punctual and reliable and able to commit to a set schedule
