Picture Framing Specialist

Description:

Established Boston art consulting firm with full frame shop is looking for a full-time and part-time Frame Shop Assistant. Framing experience is preferred, but not necessary. We are willing to train the right reliable, careful and interested person to meet the expectations listed below.

The Frame Shop Assistant will:

- Help with all aspects of framing – wood working, painting, sanding, cutting mats and glass, joining frames and completing pieces.

- Learn to install artwork in many different settings.

- Complete general handyman/handywoman tasks in the frame shop and gallery.

- Assist with organizing and taking inventory of the shop.

- Help with general office/shop tasks as requested –assisting client presentations, organizing for events, running shop related errands.

Qualifications:

The Frame Shop Assistant should be:

- Extremely comfortable working with your hands, able to lift and carry heavy framing materials and have a keen attention to detail

- Licensed to drive a car, but your own car is not needed. He/She should be comfortable driving a delivery van in the city and on the highway.

- Responsible – we deal with artwork that is of high value and importance.

- Eager to learn – a lot of this position will be training with staff members who have been in the framing business for 10 years or more.
