The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) is seeking Assistant Preparators for a three year temporary appointment to help with the installation and deinstallation of art and objects for permanent galleries and temporary exhibitions. The positions support a three year museum wide reinstallation process with additional collection and facilities operations tasks.

Assistant Preparators report to PEM’s Preparator and in coordination with other Museum staff work on temporary and permanent exhibition related projects. Experience with mount making processes and object handling, knowledge of casework and mount construction with an eye for safety of objects as well as for staff, experience with crate fabrication for transportation of objects, and transporting objects. The successful candidates will be team players, detail-oriented, deadline-driven, collaborative and comfortable in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications:
Museum experience and a bachelor's degree in an art-related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
