Pottery Wheel Teacher

Indigo Fire Studio is opening up a new 4,000sq ft studio in Watertown.  We are offering many new classes and are looking for teachers.  Our class semesters generally run for 8 weeks and meet once a week for two hours.  Indigo Fire has a consistent student base and our classes are well subscribed.  Classes are focused on the pottery wheel although teachers must be experienced in handbuilding and capable of teaching both techniques.  We are interested in a teacher who is grounded in the area and committed to teaching for an extended period of time.  Pay is prorated based on enrollment, but for full classes teachers are approximately paid $55 an hr.
- at least 2-3 years of teaching experience- a portfolio of pottery- expert knowledge of ceramics and excellent throwing ability- friendly demeanor

Indigo Fire is a teaching pottery studio in Belmont.  We have a thriving community of students who practice here everyday.  We have a small, well-organized space that is bustling with activity and pots.  We fire various stoneware and porcelain clay bodies at cone 6 and make all our glazes in-house.  We offer classes, independent study, private lessons and workshops.
