Museum Assistant - Visitor Services


Old South Meeting House Museum & Historic Site seeks dependable and outgoing individuals to join our Visitor Services team. Museum Assistants ensure a high-quality, enjoyable, and engaging experience for guests of all ages and backgrounds. This part-time position is an important part of our museum operations, providing a welcoming environment for members, visitors, program participants, and groups. Museum Assistants lead interpretive talks, educational programs, and sell museum admission or merchandise. There are additional opportunities to work at evening events and programs.


This position requires successful experience working with the public, enthusiasm for interacting with visitors, and interest in American history, civic engagement and working in museums. Training provided; prior museum or retail experience is a plus but is not required. We are currently seeking candidates available to work two - three days per week (13 - 20 hours) and four weekend shifts per month.
