The Registrar is responsible for managing registration and scheduling for the Suzuki School of Newton's student body of nearly 300 students. The Registrar is the chief scheduler, handles mailings, sends electronic scheduling information, and updates the enrollment database. Working in close collaboration with the Operations Manager, these two positions ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the school. The Registrar is also the main point of contact for incoming inquiries from prospective students, and they are responsible for initiating the enrollment process, maintaining room and teachers' schedules, and acting as "mission control" for communications among all faculty, staff, Board, and families.
The Registrar also has their finger on the pulse of the outside community and fills the role of Marketing Manager through meeting enrollment projections, developing new programs, advertising upcoming events, and maintaining the school's website.
The position is full time, Tuesday through Friday, 10am to 6pm, and Saturday 8:30am-1:30pm. The school has a group health insurance plan and a Retirement 403B plan.
The Suzuki School of Newton will be holding all music classes online through December 31, 2020, so this position will be primarily remote to start. We will re-evaluate the national health situation at the end of the calendar year to determine if we can safely resume in-person classes for the Spring 2021 semester. Despite this position starting remotely, candidates should be local and able to work the office hours specified above once we resume in-person operations.
The successful candidate will be a clear communicator with knowledge of classical music and Suzuki music education, be extremely organized and able to multi-task efficiently, be a good spokesperson with strong writing skills, and have accurate math skills (for collecting tuition). Previous experience with Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn quickly is essential. Personable speaking voice and understanding of childhood development is also valuable. We will train the right person, so eagerness to learn and being a right fit to the team is most critical. Comfort with social media, website management, and e-newsletter a plus.
How To Apply:
Send email with a cover letter and CV which includes relevant administrative experience, any knowledge of Suzuki learning, and suitable skills to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. No phone calls please.
