Digital Archive/Photography Intern

Description:
Oliver Brothers Fine Art Restoration in Beverly, Ma is seeking a digital photography intern for the fall and winter. Working under the supervision of a staff member, the intern will play a vital role in organizing and maintaining the company's digital photographic archive. Qualified and interested interns will also have the opportunity to photograph original fine art and various media from several different time periods and cultures, as well as gain valuable first-hand experience related to photography and digitally editing images for publication on the company website. In addition, he/she will interact with and learn to identify various styles of visual artwork, as well as gain firsthand experience in the day to day operations of a professional fine-art restoration/conservation studio. This is an unpaid internship. Specific tasks will include: detailed organization of the company's digital photographic archive; photographing various styles of artwork and picture frames; digital editing of images for the archive and for use in online publication.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be able to work independently and with staff members. He/she should be a self starter and possess strong organizational abilities and computer skills, including experience with Photoshop and working knowledge of Microsoft Office. A background in photography and/or digital archiving, as well as skills in graphic design, illustration, digital media or a related field are a plus. Preferably, Applicants will have a strong interest and appreciation for fine art.
