Summer 2019 Education/Stage Management Internship

Description:

This summer, The Young Company at Greater Boston Stage we will embark on our 19th Summer Festival: a 6-week program including over 180 students and 40 staff members working on 6 fully staged productions, as well as a week by week program for our youngest students.


We are committed to making our Summer Festivals an educational experience for our entire staff as well as our students.Our flexible paid internships challenge both educators and Stage Managers to hone their skills to become more experienced and nuanced teaching artists.


Interns are an integral part of the education staff, serving as either:

  • Stage Managers for one of the Act 1 (grades 4-6), Act 2 (grades 7-9), or Act 3 (grades 10-12) shows
  • Team teacher for the Overture program (grades 1-3)

Interns will:
  • Collaborate with creative teams as a member of the artistic team
  • Co-teach one workshop and lead teach another workshop of their own design
  • Attend staff meetings and planning periods
  • Receive personalized mentorship and feedback on their artistic and educational work from professional Boston teaching artists and Greater Boston Stage Educational staff

Qualifications:
