Cultural Development Special Projects Assistant

Description:

The Cultural Development Division, city of Worcester, seeks a creative marketing and communications guru. Reporting to the Cultural Development Officer, this position is responsible for developing & implementing creative marketing and public relations strategies; managing communications, website pages, social media, and e-newsletters; and managing Worcester Art’s council, interns and volunteers, special events and projects.

The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills; the ability to work with diverse populations, organizations, & interests; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and/or other graphic applications; the ability to establish effective working relationships with cultural organizations, vendors, and staff; the ability to analyze performance and prepare reports; ability to provide assistance at all levels to users, administrators, and contractors; and the ability to motivate and coordinate multiple interns, resources, and programs/projects to achieve the highest and best use of available resources. #MakeArtEverywhere !

Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) years of related professional experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree
  • Five (5) years of related professional experience
  • Experience working with city, state, and/or federal programs and guidelines
