The Cambridge Office for Tourism is a small, dynamic, non-profit agency with a significant impact on marketing Cambridge, MA worldwide. Located in Harvard Square on the subway’s Red Line, the office has served as the central hub for all tourism marketing and visitor information for the City for 25 years. The mission of our office is to convey the vibrancy of Cambridge to a broad audience of business and leisure travelers—as well as to residents of the City—and to promote the art, culture, music, dance, cuisine, hotels, attractions and universities that abound here.


Qualifications:


YOU ARE:

A successful candidate for this position will be responsible for collaborating in the planning and execution of projects related to marketing Cambridge as a destination. He/She will effectively communicate our brand’s message and possess analytical skills to track progress through reporting tools.


The right candidate will be:

YOU HAVE:

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· The ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage your time well

· Strong computer skills and proficiency on Mac platforms

(experience with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and/or Illustrator a plus)

· Commitment to manage and increase social media reach

· Adaptability in the ever-changing digital space

· Understanding of SEO and online marketing strategies

· 3+ years of related experience

· Comprehensive knowledge of (and genuine interest in) the following: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+, Flickr, Pinterest, YouTube and Vimeo

· Bachelor's Degree

· A keen interest in sharing the excitement and vibrancy of Cambridge with the world


The right person for this key position will be responsible for managing ongoing content on our website and a variety of social media outlets, as well as working collaboratively with marketing consultants and business owners to maintain up-to-date content. You will assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns directed at Cambridge's vast number of visitors, residents and tourism industry partners.

You will also liaise with outside suppliers and vendors, City officials, and a wide array of business leaders. You will supervise a staff of volunteers (and occasionally interns), manage the production and distribution of print collateral and perform general office management tasks. Attendance at some evening receptions and networking events may occasionally be required.
