Marketing Internship: Summer 2019

Description:

The Marketing Intern will work closely with the Director of Marketing to support our summer
programming including Cymbeline: Free Shakespeare on the Boston Common and our Apprentice Program
productions.

Responsibilities: Assist with the promotion of Cymbeline on the Boston Common which include special events such as Opening Night, Sponsor Nights, and create and manage marketing materials for the two Apprentice Program productions (titles A Midsummer Night’s Dream and All’s Well That Ends Well). Special projects depending on intern’s interest and skills may include promotional video creation, graphic design, and social media projects.

When in the office at Babson for the first half of the internship, the marketing intern will take the lead on the creation and distribution of printed and online advertising materials for the Apprentice productions, manage food truck scheduling for the Boston Common, assist in merchandise creation, attend selected rehearsals for Cymbeline for social media purposes, create a rewards program for the Apprentices Ambassadors, and assist the Director of Marketing as needed.

On the Boston Common duties include managing of the merchandise tent, set-up of the Info tent, taking video testimonial of audience members, social media (specifically Instagram stories), implementing audience surveys and interacting with audience members, answering questions and providing a positive audience experience.

Time Commitment

  • From May 28 through mid-July: 12-15 hours per week. Two days a week, between 10am-4pm, Tuesday and Thursdays at Babson College in Wellesley, MA
  • From July 17 through August 5: 40 hours a week – 4pm-11pm on the Boston Commo
Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain calm and focused under pressure are essential.
  • Candidates must have a professional demeanor and be creative and enthusiastic.
  • Applicants with previous marketing, social media, video promotion, graphic design, and photography experience are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and strong writing skills required.
  • Applicants must be able to provide their own laptop for work done on the Common.
  • This position will require some lifting and being on your feet.

Transportation: Commonwealth Shakespeare Company is the theatre-in-residence at Babson College. Applicants must provide their own means of transportation to Wellesley and the Boston Common.
