Front Desk Receptionist
Longy School of Music of Bard College is seeking a full-time Front Desk
Receptionist to begin immediately. The Front Desk Receptionist serves as the
initial customer service contact for the School’s incoming calls and for
walk-in inquiries made by students, faculty, staff, and guests. The Front Desk
Receptionist provides general administrative support to staff and maintains
organized information and communication systems. In addition to handling daily
inquiries, this position coordinates room reservations and scheduling of studio
and performance spaces. The Front Desk Receptionist reports to the Facilities
- Ensures that the front office is open for
business promptly at 9:00 a.m., Monday – Friday.
- Answers the main telephone line for Longy School
of Music, directs calls, and responds to walk-in student, faculty, staff, and
- Sorts, delivers, and meters all incoming and
outgoing mail and express deliveries.
- Provides general office management support,
including ordering office supplies and maintaining phone lists.
- Monitors and reserves parking for faculty and staff.
- Collaborates with the Concert Office and responds
to inquiries about Longy concerts and events.
Manages recital room rentals, drafts concert rental contracts and
oversees concert rental and billing.
- Oversees campus-wide scheduling using the Asimut
system. Scheduling responsibilities include organizing the schedule for classes
and lessons, daily one-time reservations, student chamber reservations, and

- Two years of customer service or related
administrative experience necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills,
with ability to act as a positive ambassador for the School.
