Choreographers for Summer Theater Program

Description:

Dynamic and inclusive performing arts studio is seeking an experienced, vibrant, and compassionate Summer Choreographer to join our mission of giving every child a second home in the arts. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience working with children in the dance studio and through choreographing large-scale musicals, thrives in a fast-paced environment (quick turnaround time for each musical), and loves dance and working with children!


POSITION 1 (4 Weeks)

DATES: July 22-August 16

TIMES: Mondays 8:00am-3:15pm and Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-3:15pm

RESPONSIBILITIES: Choreographing elementary-aged students in two week-long musical productions: “Willy Wonka” and “Wonderland!” and choreographing middle school/high school students in a two-week production of “13 the Musical” as well as teaching dance lessons for all ages grades 2-12 (all levels), and general counselor duties such as helping with lunch and snack and leading full group games. Required staff meeting one evening in mid-June.


POSITION 2 (2 weeks)

DATES: August 5-16

TIMES: Mondays 8:00am-3:15pm and Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-3:15pm

RESPONSIBILITIES: Choreographing high school students in a two-week production of “RENT” and choreographing elementary students in a one-week production of "The Little Mermaid", teaching dance lessons for all ages grades 2-12 (all levels), and general counselor duties such as helping with lunch and snack and leading full group games. Required staff meeting one evening in mid-June.

Qualifications:

-Preferred Degree in: Dance and/or Education

-Experience choreographing musicals & working with young people

-Reliable transportation to Sudbury (no commuter rail access)

-Passionate about and skilled with working with children of all levels and abilities
