Music Director for "Mamma Mia" as part of Summer Theater Program

Description:

Dynamic and inclusive performing arts studio is seeking an experienced, vibrant, and compassionate Summer Music Director to join our mission of giving every child a second home in the arts.


DATES: July 8-19

TIMES: Mondays 8:00am-3:15pm and Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-3:15pm

RESPONSIBILITIES: Music directing middle school and/or high school students in “Mamma Mia”, vocal coaching/voice lessons for all ages grades 2-12 (all levels), and general counselor duties such as helping with lunch and snack and leading full group games. Required staff meeting one evening in mid-June.


Qualifications:

-Preferred Degree in: Vocal Performance (classical or MT), Music Education, and/or Vocal Pedagogy

-Experience leading an ensemble and experience working with young people

- Proficient piano skills

- Knowledge of Musical Theatre repertoire for young people (and audition technique) and a background in coaching young theater performers

-Reliable transportation to Sudbury (no commuter rail access)

-Passionate about and skilled with working with children of all levels and abilities

-Enjoy and are comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a high expectation to teach music efficiently in a short time frame
