Children's Stage Director
VOICES Boston seeks a stage director to work with our 5th- through 8th-grade ensembles in their year-end musical, The Sound of Music (performances June 8/9, 2019). We have a particularly talented class of 8th-graders, and have had strong productions of H.M.S. Pinafore, Pirates of Penzance, and Oklahoma! the past three seasons.
We seek a dedicated director/theatre educator who enjoys working with this age group. Most rehearsals are between 4:00 - 7:30pm weekdays (starting with 1-2 days per week, ramping up to tech week), and we'll start in late April. With the right person, pending schedule and budget, we might be able to have some "theatre instruction" or “pre-rehearsal” visits earlier in the Winter/Spring.
- Background in theatre education
- Enjoys working with children
- Collaborative and has the ability to work well on a team
- Ability to read a score
- Timely and responsive work ethic
- Ability to clear background check
