Description:
The Marketing and Design
Associate assists the Marketing and Brand Manager to market and maintain the
Museum’s brand identity through all mediums: publications, the press,
broadcasts, social media, the Museum website, and in-house materials.
Primary Functions and Major Responsibilities:
Work with the Marketing and
Brand Manager to effectively communicate with the diverse audiences that
comprise the Museum's desired constituencies, and maintain a strong,
recognizable, engaging brand.
Qualifications:
Duties include:
- Manage the
website by creating content (photographs, video, and text); uploading and
updating content; interacting with website host organization and overseeing
upgrades and maintenance
- Maintain the
website calendar by uploading content and keeping event entries current
- Manage the
Museum's social media accounts and maintain a social calendar, in keeping with
the Museum's brand identity and voice
- Maintain Facebook
and Instagram presence with daily posts to continue to build a social community
and drive attendance to exhibitions and programs
- Monitor Yelp,
TripAdvisor, and other similar sites, editing as appropriate and working to
increase the number of positive comments
- Stay current with
social media trends and innovations to incorporate them as appropriate
- Recommend new
approaches to utilize digital media to meet marketing and communication goals
- Manage the
Museum’s photo database and fulfill requests for archived photographs from
staff, journalists, or others
- Manage
photography needs of the Museum by taking photographs at events and openings
- Upload Museum
events to various outside online calendars
- Create and
distribute weekly calendar updates to media outlets
- Create and
distribute weekly e-blasts
- Create weekly
Little Cinema calendars; manage Little Cinema postering; create and upload
weekly Little Cinema ads
- Monitor and
document outside online coverage of the Museum
- Design and
produce internal signage, flyers, and rack cards as assigned
- Other duties as
required
Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year experience in marketing/communications
and/or graphic design
· Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and
other online platforms
· Firm understanding of marketing principles and design
basics
· Working knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, Word,
InDesign – video editing skills a plus
· Excellent, crisp writing skills with an
entrepreneurial spirit and extremely creative style
· Strong collaborator and communicator working well with
coworkers from all departments
· Strong organizational and time management skills;
highly self-motivated and energetic, ability to show initiative and work
independently; ability to juggle multiple projects with a high level of
attention to detail; ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented office
· Highly organized and meticulous, staying on top of key
deadlines and program and exhibition timelines
· Self-motivated, energetic learner
· Excellent written and verbal skills

· Strong technological skills and computer literacy

· Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends, and
easily accept other duties and tasks as assigned.
