Position Description


Montserrat College of Art seeks a part-time, adjunct faculty member to teach Sculpture Workshop. The candidate must have proficiency in a range of contemporary sculptural techniques and approaches, as well as general knowledge of contemporary art theory.


Students choose materials and issues for their projects and are expected to complete a series of related works. Individual research of critical issues, group discussions of writings about sculpture, and trips to exhibitions, technical facilities, and sculptors' studios are important aspects of the course.

Requirements


An MFA is required. Three years of higher education teaching experience preferred.


Additional Requirements


Position takes place in a shop environment; manual dexterity to use computers is required; ability to lift 25 Lbs. Availability to participate in shop orientation, end-of-semester critiques, and preparation of student work for the exhibition at the Spring In House event is required.
