Ceramic Events Teacher


The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) is seeking a part-time ceramic teacher to lead workshops and activities throughout the Winter Session. The teacher must have extensive knowledge of ceramics, including wheelthrowing and handbuilding fundamentals, as well as the application of pattern and decorative glazing techniques.

Events and workshops include the following:


February 8, March 2, March 23, 6:30-9:30pm

Kick off your weekend at the BAC! Bring a date to the ceramics studio and learn to make your own pots together! Bring light refreshments to enjoy as your teacher guides you through the basics of the wheel and handbuilding. Everyone will create two pots to be glazed and fired.


These events happen by request and take place on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.

Children’s Ceramics Party: Spend a few hours in our ceramics studio creating and sculpting from clay. Projects to pick from include handbuilt pinch pots, vases and clay cut outs.

Adult Ceramics Party: Try your hand at clay in our ceramics studio. Project choices include handbuilt sculptures or vases and decorative tiles.

More workshops/events may be added to the calendar as needed.


· Excellent knowledge of ceramics.

· Experience teaching and creating curriculum for children and adults.

· Excellent communication and organizational skills.

· Knowledge of general safety rules and basic first aid.

· Professional and patient.

· Ability to work effectively in teams and individually.

· Knowledge of safe ceramic materials and care of studio space.

· MA in Ceramics preferred or equivalent work experience.

· Weekend and evening availability.
