Fabrication Instructors (Artists, Engineers, Makers)

Artisan's Asylum is looking for local artists, engineers, creators and dreamers to join our team of Instructors. We are a 40,000 square-foot space in Somerville offering creative makers opportunities to make, learn and teach their passions. Our mission is to support teaching, learning and practice of fabrication. Our facility offers shared fabrication tools in a number of shops throughout our space, as well as three classrooms for other learning and making opportunities.
We are growing our teaching team and looking for individuals who want to teach traditional and non-traditional creative learning workshops during the day and/or evening. We do not charge a fee for using the spaces; instead teachers make a share of the profits from each ticket sold.
Instructors should have the following:- Experience in a specific creative/fabrication field- A bright and engaging personality- Able to inspire students to think creatively and problem solve- Design engaging curriculum that builds skills within a workshop or over a series of lessons- Interested in being a member of our community- Willing to test out on tools, if teaching a class using shared fabrication tools- Have some teaching experience either to adults or Middle School / High School students, or willing to meet for some professional coaching with staff prior to teaching
