Visual Art Teacher

Description:

Apollinaire Theatre Company seeks a Visual Art Teacher for our youth program, the Apollinaire Play Lab.


Classes will be held either on Saturdays or on a soon TBD weeknight.

January 26 – April 6 with no classes on February 23.

April 6th is the end of session showcase that will include a “gallery showing” of student work in the lobby of the Riseman Family Theatre.


Classes will be held at the Riseman Family Theatre in the Chelsea Theatre Works in Chelsea Square.


Responsibilities include:

- Curriculum development

- Communication with parents as needed

- Preparing students for and being a part of the end of session showcase


Compensation:

$50 per class hour

Our performing arts complex, the Chelsea Theatre Works, includes our mainstage, a BlackBox rental theatre and co-working space, and the Riseman Family Theatre–home to our youth program, the Apollinaire Play Lab.


We are looking for teachers who are passionate about promoting the arts in underserved communities, who set high standards for themselves as both educators and artists, and who will inspire our students to develop their talents and their individual voices as young artists.

Qualifications:
We are seeking an experienced Visual Artist who is well organized, able to work both independently and collaboratively, and has a strong interest/background in working with children and youth. Bilingual Spanish Speaker a plus.
