2019 February Vacation Week - Performing Arts Instructor
The Umbrella Community Arts Center is seeking
a talented and creative performing art/theater teacher for its 2019 February
Vacation Week Program. The program is designed for children ages 5–12. Campers
will be grouped by age*: 5–6 years, 7-8 years, 8–10 years, and 10–12 years and
each day, instructors along with the Assistant Teachers will explore our theme,
Storytellers through discovery,
exploration and creative art-making. The day runs from 9:00am – 4:30pm Tuesday-Friday.
1. Half-Day Morning ONLY – 9:00am-12:30pm.
Afternoon ONLY – 1:00 – 4:30pm
3. Full-Day 9:00am – 4:30pm.
of classes and program areas provided each day will depend on the total number
of registered students and how they can be divided by age into groups of 10-14

Vacation Week: Storytellers
At The Umbrella, we believe that everyone is an artist. We have designed our February Vacation Week, Art
Explorers program with variety in mind to give students the opportunity to
discover, explore, and experiment in the arts.
Explore your creativity through the art of storytelling as
we draw inspiration from our favorite books, movies and folklore. Students will
have a chance to create their own stories with art projects ranging from hand-made
books, painting, puppets and more!
Art Explorers – Storytellers
will get the creative sparks going with hands-on projects in ceramics, drawing
and painting, 2D and 3D mixed media, performing arts and woodworking.
BA or MA in Theater Arts, Theater Education, or Teaching.
Demonstrated technical skill in the subject being taught. Prior teaching
experience is highly desirable. Enthusiastic, reliable, and creative. The
ability to motivate and inspire in an open positive way. Strong organizational
and time management skills.
