Assistant Professor - Art Education Tenure Track

The successful candidate will join an innovative, studio-centric, and social justice-oriented department ofBFA and graduate education at the first public art college in the country. They will teach in and provide leadership for our historic Saturday Studios program, where students teach Saturday morning art classes to local area youth. Our practice-based and studio-centered curriculum will allow the successful candidate the opportunity to teach courses in art teacher education, theory, pedagogy, and/or contemporary studio practices.
• Demonstrated expertise in culturally-responsive pedagogy
• Active studio practice & ability to teach robust studio courses
• 10+ years experience teaching art in urban schools
• Terminal degree (MFA/PhD/EdD) or ability to complete a terminal degree within 5 years of hire OR Master’s Degree in Related Field + Substantial Record of Achievement
